A new gun law being considered in Congress, if aligned with Department of Homeland Security memos labeling everyday Americans as potential "threats," could potentially deny firearms to pro-lifers, gun-rights advocates, tax protesters, animal rights activists, and a host of others – any already on the expansive DHS watch list for potential "extremism."
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., has sponsored H.R. 2159, the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009, which permits the attorney general to deny transfer of a firearm to any "known or suspected dangerous terrorist." The bill requires only that the potential firearm transferee is "appropriately suspected" of preparing for a terrorist act and that the attorney general "has a reasonable belief" that the gun might be used in connection with terrorism.
Our rights and freedoms are slowly being eroded, and over half the country and nearly all lawmakers are turning a blind eye to it.

Officials at George Washington University have finally taken action in response to the February incident: the school officials named the College Democrats "Most Outstanding Student Organization of the Year." The award "recognizes organizations with exceptional performance in motivating and organizing fellow students to enhance campus life."
Why don't people like Carrie Prejean have the right to speak out in support of traditional marriage? Why don't people who are pro-life have the right to stand on a corner with signs to protest abortion? It seems increasingly so that the only form of free speech that is accepted in this society is that which conforms with liberal ideals.

According to this new CIA report, however, Pelosi was briefed on the use, description, and the techniques that had already been employed by interrogators. Pelosi is already trying to pull a Clinton and backtrack. At the very least, Pelosi, once briefed on the possible use of the techniques as she claims, did not speak out against "torture." She is on the fast track to incriminate herself and the whole Senate if she continues to push for an independent commission to investigate officials and lawyers involved in approving of these interrogation methods.

BET.com used the following quote as apparent evidence of Rush's racism. I happen to think the reason Powell endorsed Obama and completely turned his back on his own party is because he hold liberal ideologies, and Rush also believes that.
The problem with all these claims is that Rush often praises Clarence Thomas, the second ever African-American Supreme Court judge. Thomas held conservative values, and he believed in the Constitution and while on the bench he upheld it, and Rush mentions him often. In addition to this, Dr. Walter Williams, also black, often has guest appearances on the show. This goes to show that Rush does not have a problem with black people, just fake Republicans. Limbaugh has never attacked anyone for being black, or for promoting a black person to a position of power just because they were black. If he had, he likely would not be on the air anymore. Ask Don Imus.
It's not always about race, BET, stop making it so. Open your minds, right?

-Free Cars for Welfare Recipients Program Gets More Funding
Massachusetts Democratic Governor Deval Patrick apparently instituted a "free wheels for welfare recipients" program in 2006. The basic idea behind the plan is that when the welfare recipients finally get a job, the state of Massachusetts provides them with a car, state-funded insurance, repairs, and even AAA membership.
1 in 5 of the car recipients ends up back on welfare, and they get to keep the state funded car anyway. Great right? She wants to shovel $30,000 more into it when Massachusetts' economy is in the tank already.
At least there were somesome Republicans weren't so happy about it:
“It’s mind-boggling. You’ve got people out there saying, ‘I just lost my job. Hey, can I get a free car, too?’ ” said House Minority Leader Brad Jones (R-North Reading).
“Given the state’s fiscal condition, paying for AAA and auto inspection costs is outrageous,” said Senate Minority Leader Richard Tisei (R-Wakefield). “There are so many families out there trying to deal with layoffs and pay cuts. You have to wonder what the state’s priorities are at this point.”
There is no better way to keep people dependent on the government than by giving them things. There also is no better way to get that person's vote, and to keep it that way. If you're getting something for free, why would you vote to lose that opportunity? Those voters on welfare have more common sense than the people they are electing do.

Hawaii is planning to celebrate "Islam Day" over the objections of state lawmakers who associate extremist Muslims with terrorism.
The resolution to proclaim Sept. 24, 2009, as Islam Day passed the Senate today on a 22-3 vote.
"I recall radical Islamists around the world cheering the horrors of 9/11. That is the day all civilized people of all religions should remember," said Republican Sen. Fred Hemmings to the applause of more than 100 people gathered in the Senate to oppose a separate issue -- same-sex civil unions.
Democrats countered that the diversity and positive contributions of the Islamic world should be honored.
Just what we need, 13 days after the anniversary of September 11th. Islam Day! Does it need to be said that the reason those extremists committed those heinous acts is because of the Islamic religion and the teachings of Mohammad?
Where is the Christian Day? The Jewish Day? Pagan Day? This makes no sense and is a slap in the face to the hundreds of thousands of people who have died at the hands of Muslims because of the teachings of Islam. What about separation of church and state that liberals hold so dear? The government is afraid to even say the word Christmas, but sponsoring a day in honor of the Islamic religion is acceptable?

IMAGINE the uproar the media and the left would cause if Bush had implemented this system. It is easy to call this a conspiracy theory, but in all honesty it is hard to believe that the White House would send 140,000 workers costing 700 million dollars out into the streets to get all these coordinates within ninety days, when the census isn't until next year, to make it more cost efficient. The bill says that infanticide should not be prosecuted as murder, though, as long as:
Infanticide would become a felony, punishable by no more than two years in prison, with a minimum of 180 days, and/or a fine of no more than $10,000.… at the time of the act or omission, the person’s judgment was impaired as a result of the effects of giving birth or the effects of lactation following the birth.

The jihad is real, and it is being carried on today. With nearly 1.5 billion Muslims in the world today, even IF a small percentage (it isn't) of them understand and follow the teaching of Mohammad, that is still a devastatingly large number of individuals who believe their sole purpose in life is the spread Islam through the killing of those who are not Muslims "so that Allah's Word and religion reign supreme."
I'm not saying that every Arab or Muslim at your local 7-11 is a terrorist bent on destroying America. But I am saying there often is a REASON for them living in America. If discovered or caught by radical Muslims, they would be instructed to kill them. There are a very large number of Muslims around the world that want nothing to do with this global jihad. This shows a very very weak theological foundation, but they want and attempt to create a legitimate Islam that can coexist peacefully with other religions and ideologies of the rest of the world. Our President Obama wants to release some prisoners that hold these beliefs, from Guantanamo Bay. We are releasing the enemy. Obama is attempting to demonize our troops and the Bush administration by releasing "torture" pictures, causing people who are mentally weak and ignorant to sympathize with jihadists. These prisoners in Guantanamo believe in Sharia Law and the literal interpretation of the Koran. This is not arguable, this is fact, whether or not you believe or the Adminstration believes they have committed crimes (they have) they still believe in the radical teachings of Mohammad and have declared Jihad on all infidels and those who have turned away from the teachings. These radical viewpoints are called sharia law. Sharia law is the literal interpretation and acting on the teachings of the Koran that have been described earlier, and they include permissible rape and killing children or innocents, among other heinous acts. President Obama's nominee for the position of Legal Advisor of the Department of State Harold Koh made this unbelievably idiotic and frightening statement: "in an appropriate case, I don't see any reason why sharia law would not be applied to govern a case in the United States."

The mobile calls, emails and website visits of every person in Britain will be stored for a year under sweeping new powers which come into force on Monday. Privacy campaigners warned last night that the information would be used by the Government to create a giant "Big Brother" super-database containing a map of everyone's private life.
The new powers will, for the first time, place a legal duty on internet companies to store private information, including email traffic and website browsing histories.
Although the new retention powers will not permit the storage of the content of emails or phone calls it will show details such as IP addresses, date, time and user telephone numbers. Under the terms of the EU directive, the Home Office has written to leading internet service providers and phone companies offering to compensate them for the costs incurred in retaining the data for a year.
A spokesman for the Internet Service Providers Association confirmed that the leading ISPs had received written orders from the Home Office setting out their obligations under the new rules.
Phil Booth of the civil rights campaign group, NOID, said: "Inch by inch, the Government's plans to map and monitor everyone's communications are creeping into place. Today it's retention of data, soon it'll be a giant database to suck it all up. And unless we speak out and stop this, what used to be private – details of your relationships and personal interests – will end up in the ever-widening control of the stalker state."
Last week the The Independent reported that millions of Britons who use social networking sites such as Facebook could soon have their every move monitored by the Government and saved on a "Big Brother" database.
There really is an extremely fine line between breaching privacy and security that we very often underestimate the complexity and fragility of. This act might just cross that line.

"I would like to see more people from outside the judicial monastery, somebody who has had some real-life experience, not just as a judge," Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said on ABC's "This Week."
Sen. Arlen Specter, who this past week announced he was switching his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat, said the next Supreme Court justice need not be a judge, or even a lawyer.
He told NBC's "Meet the Press" that he hopes Obama will bypass the federal appeals court, historically the breeding ground for Supreme Court nominees, in his search. He said the president could choose a "statesman or stateswoman" for the position instead.
"I would hope that he would look beyond the Circuit Courts of Appeals which now populates the Supreme Court and pick someone with a greater world experience and diversity," Specter said, noting that the sitting justices have "lives and experiences which are all very similar."
"It would be good to get people who know something besides wearing a black robe," Specter said.
He said women, Hispanics and African-Americans need to be better represented on the high court.
Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also said the court needs more women and minorities.
Hatch said he hopes Obama chooses "somebody of great dimension."
Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., also warned against picking a so-called activist judge.
Why would you hire someone simply because of their skin color, background, or ethnicity? One would think that your hire would be based the applicant/nominee's qualifications for the position. No matter who it is. If the most qualified person for the position of Supreme Court Justice is an African-American female, a second generation Mongolian immigrant, or, God forbid, a Caucasian male, then they should be the one to fill the vacancy. It does not do a black person or a Latino justice to have one of their own on the bench simply because of their ethnicity. You are doing a diservice to their respective groups. Why would you not want the best, even if that is a white man? Why should an activist get the job over a judge?
The quotes above reveal the new mindset of our government and most liberals: look "good" and hire someone who does not deserve it and do an injustice to the American people rather than to fill the position with someone who knows what they are doing. These mindsets and practices are in place in our admission systems and our corporate hiring structures, among other things. If an African-American can become President of the United States, why should any minority be thought of as having less of an opportunity to succeed? We want the best at what they do, no matter WHAT jobthey will be doing, whether black, white, yellow, or green is the color of their skin and no matter their gender.
We have not progressed as far as we like to think we have with race issues if we cannot disregard the color of one's skin when it comes to hiring or going to school, just as same as any other time.

The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain, the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.
A New York Times reporter has seen the whole scene, and addressing the biker, says, "Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life."
"Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right."
"Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist from the New York Times, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this on the first page. What motorcycle do you ride and what political affiliation do you have?"
"A Harley Davidson and I am a Republican."
The journalist leaves.
The following morning the biker buys The New York Times to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on first page:

One person is learning this lesson the hard way. Almost immediately after September 11th, a Canadian woman named Beverly Giesbrecht began to sympathize with the Islamic cause and converted to Islam. She ran a propaganda website called "Jihad Unspun." She later decided to make a documentary that sympathized with the Jihad and the cause of the Taliban. While in Pakistan, she was kidnapped by the very people she sought to represent. Ironic. Naturally, she had to beg her homeland and its allies who she bashed, left behind, and rejected. Here is what she said in a recent video released by her captors who were demanding a $375,000 ransom.
“I need some kind, someone to help me, the Pakistani government and my own country and somebody must move now, because my life is going to be over. I want to go home. So, these people are serious. Please help me,”
“I have been advised and asked to make this video. We have very short time now and I am going to be killed, as you can see,” she says, gesturing at the dagger on the wall behind her, pointed at her head.
“I am going to be beheaded just like the Polish engineer, probably by the end of the month. The deadline is by the end of March, and that's basically, I don't know, 18 days or 16 days,” she says, closing her eyes.
“I'm not quite sure how long that is but the time is very short and my life is going to end,” she adds in a choked voice.

-Scots addressing "Islamophobia" in Schools

The Scottish Government is to back efforts to challenge Islamophobia in schools across the country.
More than £81,000 will be spent on holding more than 150 workshops in secondary schools over the next two years.
The move was announced by the Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop and welcomed by the Show Racism the Red Card charity, which will put on the 90-minute workshops.
The charity's campaign manager Billy Singh said: "We are delighted that the Scottish Government is supporting our Islamophobia work in schools.
"We are not intending to educate people about the Islamic religion, but to challenge myths and stereotypes and encourage people to think critically about the information that they receive."
Announcing the move, Ms Hyslop said: "The Scottish Government is determined to make sure that all our young people have the opportunity to learn and grow in a Scotland free from the discrimination and bigotry that inhibits personal development and blights communities."
"We are all modern Scots regardless of our race, religion or belief and the support we are providing to Show Racism the Red Card to deliver Islamophobia workshops recognises the increasingly diverse society we all share."
Maybe they should educate the young people about the true Islamic religion, and discover just why and how these stereotypes developed in the first place.

In this segment Beck talks about common sense. He makes excellent points. In this era of political correctness we have lost all semblance of common sense in our society. It is clear in our schools, in our sources of entertainment, and in our day to day lives. Beck makes an excellent point when he says mentions a burglar suing you for assault that occurred in your own home as the crime was in process.
Common sense would tell you killing any innocent human is wrong.
Common sense would tell you using water to save American lives is not.
Common sense would tell you illegal aliens should not be able to get drivers licenses.
But I suppose common sense is too outdated of a terminology for our progressive nation.
