-Yale Press removed Muhammad cartoon from a book about...Mohammed cartoons

This is hilarious. And pathetic. Or Orwellian.

From the New York Times:

Yale University and Yale University Press consulted two dozen authorities, including diplomats and experts on Islam and counterterrorism, and the recommendation was unanimous: The book, “The Cartoons That Shook the World,” should not include the 12 Danish drawings that originally appeared in September 2005. What’s more, they suggested that the Yale press also refrain from publishing any other illustrations of the prophet that were to be included, specifically, a drawing for a children’s book; an Ottoman print; and a sketch by the 19th-century artist Gustave Doré of Muhammad being tormented in Hell, an episode from Dante’s “Inferno” that has been depicted by Botticelli, Blake, Rodin and Dalí…

John Donatich, the director of Yale University Press, said by telephone that the decision was difficult, but the recommendation to withdraw the images, including the historical ones of Muhammad, was “overwhelming and unanimous.” The cartoons are freely available on the Internet and can be accurately described in words, Mr. Donatich said, so reprinting them could be interpreted easily as gratuitous.

He noted that he had been involved in publishing other controversial books — like “The King Never Smiles” by Paul M. Handley, a recent unauthorized biography of Thailand’s current monarch — and “I’ve never blinked.” But, he said, “when it came between that and blood on my hands, there was no question.”

Oh we're so "progressive" and "culturally sensitive"! Give me a break. Want to see one of the offfending cartoons? Well, we will be so bold as to publish one, at the risk of death threats.

-Rachel Maddow at MSNBC demonstrates the liberal hypocrisy that is so prevalent right now

In keeping with the MSNBC is a joke theme, here is the hypocrisy demonstrated by "talk show host" Rachel Maddow. These really speak for themselves, you don't have to watch the videos in their entirety, just get a taste.

Rachel Maddow is just wrong about her "crazy conspiracy theories." These are legitimate concerns that have a basis in fact, unlike much of her weak show. Anyway, here is how she described the incident of President George W. Bush getting a shoe thrown at him in "protest" while in Iraq.

Keep the material coming, MSNBC.

-Idiot MSNBC analyst poses the illuminating question: is "socialist" becoming the new "n-word"?

What utter nonsense. For a guy who mentions "birthers", a group of people he and his cohorts have routinely bashed for being an outrageous group of conspiracy theorists, he sure is bold to suggest a conspiracy theory that is completely illegitimate and with zero basis in fact in order to stir up a pot of bulls***.

Congratulations MSNBC. You continually show what a classy, government-run media group you truly are.

-Quote of the Day: Ayn Rand

"The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it's yours. But to win it requires total dedication and a total break with the world of your past, with the doctrine that man is sacrificial animal who exists for the pleasure of others. Fight for the value of your person. Fight for the virtue of your pride. Fight for the essence, which is man, for his sovereign rational mind. Fight with the radiant certainty and the absolute rectitude of knowing that yours is the morality of life and yours is the battle for any achievement, any value, any grandeur, any goodness, any joy that has ever existed on this earth."

-California forces business to pay taxes on worthless IOUs

What a joke. California will not pay back these IOUs, banks do not honor them because they are essentially worthless and have no backing, and now California is demanding that small business pay taxes on these worthless pieces of paper.

california license plate iou arnold
Small businesses that received $682 million in IOUs from the state say California expects them to pay taxes on the worthless scraps of paper, but refuses to accept its own IOUs to pay debts or taxes. The vendors' federal class action claims the state is trying to balance its budget on their backs.

Lead plaintiff Nancy Baird filled her contract with California to provide embroidered polo shirts to a youth camp run by the National Guard, but never was paid the $27,000 she was owed. She says California "paid" her with an IOU that two banks refused to accept - yet she had to pay California sales tax on the so-called "sale" of the uniforms.

The class consists mostly of small business owners, many of whom rely on income from government contracts to keep afloat. They say California has used them as "suckers" as it looks for a way to bankroll its operations while avoiding its own financial obligations.
