-Obama has played as much golf as Bush did in nearly three years

From Politico:

President Barack Obama has only been in office for just over nine months, but he's already hit the links as much as President Bush did in over two years.

CBS' Mark Knoller — an unofficial documentarian and statistician of all things White House-related — wrote on his Twitter feed that, "Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24.
Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months."

This news comes on the heels of today's news that Obama played golf with a woman — chief domestic policy adviser Melody Barnes — for the first time since taking office.

Remember how the media would tear Bush apart for what he did in his "spare" time? That's what happens when you don't learn how to control the media during your campaign.

-GUEST POST: Racism, Liberals, and the Dysfunctional Media

If you find yourself disagreeing with President Obama, or any liberal policy for that matter, then you are a racist. Whether you know it or not, you are unconsciously a racist. That is what I learned today from a woman who called on the Ed Shultz show 99.9 FM. She stated that “Anyone who disagrees with a public option, foreign policy, or don’t want their children listen to President Obama’s speech to students is a racist…they can not hide beneath kind words, they may not know it, but they are racist.”

Why does that make a person a racist? Is it sole because they disagree with a minorities view? Minorities always find a way to shut down any opposing view: they pull the race card. At the beginning of Barack Obama’s campaign for the presidency I was swayed by then Senator Obama’s charismatic speeches. Then as I did more research into his policies, I found many policies and plans he would enact if elected that I did not agree with. Over the course of the campaign I found myself being called a racist because I would not vote for Obama. I would engage initially in a friendly debate and ask “Why do you support Senator Obama?” Many responses I received included “He represents change” or “He is such a cool guy.” When I attempted to engage in a debate about his policies and revealed that I disagreed with them, I was immediately accused of being a racist. I disagree with the majority of President Obama’s policies, but I am not a racist. The only race I see is the Human race. A racist would vote for an individual sole on race…as many of the individuals who voted for Senator Obama did. There was a 90% increase in minority voters from the previous election to this one. To them, I am a racist because I disagreed with his policies and the direction he would take our country ….Interesting.

Another statement that drives me crazy that liberals love to use is “How could you not support a public option, or welfare, don’t you want to help out your fellow Americans.” Well of course I want to help out fellow Americans. Anyone who reaches into his own pocket to help out a fellow citizen should be applauded. However it if I was to reach into the pocket of a neighbor and take money to give to the homeless man down the street, I would be arrested for theft. That is essentially what the government is doing and will do with programs such as welfare and a public option.

-Video: Mainstream Media on Obama's low approval and health care poll ratings

We could run a post a day covering Obama's free-falling poll numbers. But this video from Politico sums them up nicely thus far.

-British Mainstream Media talks about what ours will not: the weakness of Obama

barack obama superman shirt hello kitty underneath weakness

The writer of the excerpts from the Financial Times article below is one of the far left socialists who seemingly permeate the United Kingdom. Yet even he can see that Obama is not telling the truth about his agenda when it comes to his policies, namely cap and trade and universal health care. It is hard to expect the American people to recognize these things when our own media continues to bask in the glow that is Obama.

via Watching America:

The cap-and-trade bill is a travesty. Its net effect on short- to medium-term carbon emissions will be small to none. This is by design: a law that really made a difference would make energy dearer, hurt consumers and force an economic restructuring that would be painful for many industries and their workers. Congress cannot contemplate those effects. So the Waxman-Markey bill, while going through the complex motions of creating a carbon abatement regime, takes care to neutralise itself.

It proposes safety valves that will ease the cap if it threatens to have a noticeable effect on energy prices. It relies heavily on offsets – theoretical carbon reductions bought from other countries or other industries – so that big US emitters will not need to try so hard. It gives emission permits away, and tells utilities to rebate the windfall to consumers, so their electricity bills do not go up. It creates a vastly complicated apparatus, a playground for special interests and rent-seekers, a minefield of unintended consequences – and the bottom line for all that is business as usual.

On both climate change and healthcare, in other words, the US wills the end but not the means. This is where a president trusted by the electorate and unafraid to explain hard choices would be so valuable. Barack Obama, where are you?

The president has cast himself not as a leader of reform, but as a cheerleader for “reform” – meaning anything, really, that can plausibly be called reform, however flawed. He has defined success down so far that many kinds of failure now qualify. Without hesitating, he has cast aside principles he emphasised during the campaign. On healthcare, for instance, he opposed an individual insurance mandate. On climate change, he was firm on the need to auction all emissions permits. Congress proposes to do the opposite in both cases and Mr Obama’s instant response is: “That will do nicely.”
