-House's Obama Health Care bill makes private insurance ILLEGAL

From Investors Business Daily via The Blog Prof

It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

One question: If this is on page 16, what is in the rest of the 1006 pages? Congress doesn't really care to find out, as they won't read it, just like Obama wishes. The below video ought to give you the creeps. Or a "thrill up your leg", if you're Chris Matthews.

The beginning of the end? Obama means it when he says you'll be able to keep your insurance if you like it. But you better like it forever because it's the last private policy you'll ever have. Unreal. Pray that this doesn't pass the House.

-Quote of the Day: James Madison

"But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself."

-You're paying for Chinese hooker training!

Here's an excellent use of your taxpayer dollars: the government is paying 2.6 million dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job. And you don't even get the benefits as they live in China. Shame.

We feel it necessary to pay for this but Obama decided to cut military spending such as paying for new F-22 Raptors?

The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job. Dr. Xiaoming Li, the researcher conducting the program, is director of the Prevention Research Center at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. The researcher outlined three components of the intervention program in the abstract for the project:

“(1) gatekeeper (pimps) training with a focus on changing or enhancing the protective social norms and policy/practice at the establishment level; (2) FSW (female sex workers) training with a focus on the acquisition of communication skills (negotiating, limit setting) and behavioral skills (e.g., condom use skills, consistent condom use); and (3) semi-annual boosters to reinforce both social norms within establishments and individual skills,”

Our government is so corrupt and inefficient and yet we want to hand over the reigns of just about every industry to these incapable individuals.

"C'mon in ladies! I mean, we paid for it."

-Now let me tell YOU a thing or two about marketing...

Marketer-in-Chief Barack Obama and his auto-industry task for has deemed Chrysler unworthy of advertising dollars. The executives at Chrysler who admitted have done an awful job in bankrupting the company, are being superseded by an executive who has essentially bankrupted the country. Things are looking up in Chryslerland. Good luck to GM when they want to try to make decisions about their company.

Things like this are what happens when you hand over nearly fifty percent of your company to a growing, irresponsible government headed by an irresponsible and manipulative leader.

Chrysler wanted to spend $134 million in advertising over the nine weeks it's expected to be in bankruptcy -- the U.S. Treasury's auto-industry task force gave it half that.

So if GM, which is wrestling with the possibility of a Chapter 11 filing itself, is wondering how much influence the task force will have over marketing, the answer is: plenty. However, transcripts from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Southern District of New York, where the Chrysler case is being heard, proved for the first time that the task force at least understands that advertising is a necessary expense -- even if it doesn't think Chrysler needs $134 million for nine weeks of car ads.

I had no idea that Barack Obama knew so much about marketing! Hm. Must have learned it while community organizing.
