-The AP lays out the outright lies in Obama's Health Care Bill speech last night

First of all this article is shocking because it originated from the Associated Press, typically an Obama-friendly source. Second it's sad that we aren't going to hear about this from the news channels. God forbid the people are aware of the President's deceit. Unless it's Bush who "lied" of course.

President Barack Obama's assertion Wednesday that government will stay out of health care decisions in an overhauled system is hard to square with the proposals coming out of Congress and with his own rhetoric.

Even now, nearly half the costs of health care in the U.S. are paid for by government at all levels. Federal authority would only grow under any proposal in play.

A look at some of Obama's claims in his prime-time news conference:

OBAMA: "We already have rough agreement" on some aspects of what a health care overhaul should involve, and one is: "It will keep government out of health care decisions, giving you the option to keep your insurance if you're happy with it."

THE FACTS: In House legislation, a commission appointed by the government would determine what is and isn't covered by insurance plans offered in a new purchasing pool, including a plan sponsored by the government. The bill also holds out the possibility that, over time, those standards could be imposed on all private insurance plans, not just the ones in the pool.

Indeed, Obama went on to lay out other principles of reform that plainly show the government making key decisions in health care. He said insurance companies would be barred from dropping coverage when someone gets too sick, limits would be set on out-of-pocket expenses, and preventive care such as checkups and mammograms would be covered.

It's true that people would not be forced to give up a private plan and go with a public one. The question is whether all of those private plans would still be in place if the government entered the marketplace in a bigger way.

OBAMA: "I have also pledged that health insurance reform will not add to our deficit over the next decade, and I mean it."

THE FACTS: The president has said repeatedly that he wants "deficit-neutral" health care legislation, meaning that every dollar increase in cost is met with a dollar of new revenue or a dollar of savings. But some things are more neutral than others. White House Budget Director Peter Orszag told reporters this week that the promise does not apply to proposed spending of about $245 billion over the next decade to increase fees for doctors serving Medicare patients...

OBAMA: "You haven't seen me out there blaming the Republicans."

THE FACTS: Obama did so in his opening statement, saying, "I've heard that one Republican strategist told his party that even though they may want to compromise, it's better politics to 'go for the kill.' Another Republican senator said that defeating health reform is about 'breaking' me."

If you are honest with yourself, you know that Obama's socialized health care will mean taxpayer subsidized abortions. For many, this is essentially aiding in the murder of a child. For those who pay taxes (people who statistically aren't getting many abortions) there really is not a whole lot of choice in the matter either.



Think for one moment if there was something embedded in this healthcare bill that was fundamentally against one of the primary points of view of the Islamic political groups, or blacks, or even illegal aliens (who are provided for under this healthcare system) in America today. There would be an uproar on the part of the specific group, and the media would report on it with the intensity of the death of a black celebrity. Obama would surely acquiesce to the pressure. But not if it's the Pro-Life groups.

It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

One question: If this is on page 16, what is in the rest of the 1006 pages? Congress doesn't really care to find out, as they won't read it, just like Obama wishes. The below video ought to give you the creeps. Or a "thrill up your leg", if you're Chris Matthews.



The beginning of the end? Obama means it when he says you'll be able to keep your insurance if you like it. But you better like it forever because it's the last private policy you'll ever have. Unreal. Pray that this doesn't pass the House.

Bloomberg reporting on the "health care overhaul" that is going on under your nose but being hidden behind the Sotomayor farce.

President Barack Obama may rely only on Democrats to push health-care legislation through the U.S. Congress if Republican opposition doesn’t yield soon, two of the president’s top advisers said.

“Ultimately, this is not about a process, it’s about results,” David Axelrod, Obama’s senior political strategist, said during an interview in his White House office. “If we’re going to get this thing done, obviously time is a-wasting.”

...House Democrats today unveiled legislation totaling about $1 trillion that would expand health care to millions of Americans over the next decade by raising taxes on the wealthiest households. The Senate has yet to agree on a bill as Democratic lawmakers struggle to get Republican support.

The AP reported on how they are going to slam it through, without partisan support or even the knowledge of everyday Americans. Transparency be damned.

House Democratic leaders, pledging to meet the president's goal of health care legislation before their August break, are offering a $1.5 trillion plan that for the first time would make health care a right and a responsibility for all Americans. Left to pick up most of the tab were medical providers, employers and the wealthy.

"We cannot allow this issue to be delayed. We cannot put it off again," Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce committee, said Tuesday. "We, quite frankly, cannot go home for a recess unless the House and the Senate both pass bills to reform and restructure our health care system.

The legislation calls for a 5.4 percent tax increase on individuals making more than $1 million a year, with a gradual tax beginning at $280,000 for individuals. Employers who don't provide coverage would be hit with a penalty equal to 8 percent of workers' wages, with an exemption for small businesses. Individuals who decline an offer of affordable coverage would pay 2.5 percent of their incomes as a penalty, up to the average cost of a health insurance plan.

If this isn't socialism I don't know what is. Let's force people to pay for insurance even if they don't want it? It doesn't make sense for some people. There is a reason some small business owners don't have it now, and there will be those who don't want to support such a mockery of Democracy, but will be essentially forced to or get their money confiscated by Big Brother. Besides that, when government health care is soon to be all that's available, they're going to just pay for private clinics anyway, just like Canadians.

The liberal-leaning plan lacked figures on total costs, but a House Democratic aide said the total bill would add up to about $1.5 trillion over 10 years. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the private calculations.

The 1,000-page bill is unlikely to attract any Republican backing, and business groups and the insurance industry immediately assailed it as a job-killer.

Yes, another thousand page bill. Do you honestly believe any member of Congress is going to read this travesty? Oh, and another 1.5 trillion dollars will be spent. Where are we going to get that kind of money? Not from the meager taxes imposed upon the "wealthy", that's for sure. And if you really think the Democrat-reported cost figure is at all accurate then you've got another thing coming.

This is the same government that can't even hand out driver's licenses without making it complicated. Look at the state of our public schools. Who wants that in your health care? Ava Isabella Stinson was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario on Thursday of last week. Ava was 13 weeks premature. She weighed only two-pounds, four-ounces at birth. Ava needed special care and equipment to keep her alive. Unfortunately, there were no open neonatal intensive care beds for her at St. Joesph's Hospital. In fact there were no open neonatal care beds in her entire Canadian province. Ava had to be transferred to the United States. Toronto's Channel 24 reported on Little Ava's ordeal:

A critically-ill premature-born baby from Hamilton is all alone in a Buffalo, N.Y., hospital after she was turned away for treatment at local facility and transferred across the border without her parents, who don't have passports.

Ava Stinson was born Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital, 14 weeks premature.

A province wide search for an open neonatal intensive care unit bed came up empty, leaving no choice but to send the two pound, four ounce baby to Buffalo.

Her parents Natalie Paquette and Richard Stinson couldn't follow their child because as of June 1, a passport is required to cross the border into the United States.

They're having to approve medical procedures over the phone and are terrified something will happen to their baby before they get there.

The Canadian Consulate in Buffalo is providing advice and guidance to the first-time parents, and their local MP, New Democrat David Christopherson, is working to arrange emergency passports.

This was not an isolated incident. Hamilton's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is closed to new admissions about 50 per cent of the time. The rest of the special needs babies are sent elsewhere and often to the United States. Don Surber at the Daily Mall reported that this tends to be the rule rather than the exception:

Remember the Jepp Quads? Thanks to socialized medicine, there was no hospital in the second-largest nation on Earth that could accommodate the quadruple birth and so Mrs. Jepp flew 325 miles from Calgary (population 1 million) to Great Falls, Mont. (population 56,000) to give birth. She may be Canadian, but her 4 daughters are American.

Well, it turns out the Jepp quads are not the exception, they are the rule. Rather than build enough neo-natal intensive care units to handle their preemies, the Canadian government ships mothers to the United States to give birth.

Lawmakers and liberals tend to ignore history and frankly to ignore reality when it comes to policy making and spending your money. Where will Canada send their citizens who are in need of intensive care? The better question is, where will WE send our citizens in need of REAL health care?


If this baby isn't aborted under Obama's socialist policies, it will die not long after birth due to his Universal Health Care.

ABC is refusing to air paid ads during its White House health care presentation, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, including a paid-for alternative viewpoint

The development comes a day after the network denied a request by the Republican National Committee to feature a representative of the party's views during the Obama special.

Conservatives for Patients Rights requested the rates to buy a 60-second spot immediately preceding 'Prescription for America'.

Statement from Rick Scott, chairman of Conservatives for Patients Rights:

"It is unfortunate - and unusual - that ABC is refusing to accept paid advertising that would present an alternative viewpoint for the White House health care event. Health care is an issue that touches every American and all potential pieces of legislation have carried a pricetag in excess of $1 trillion of taxpayers' money. The American people deserve a healthy, robust debate on this issue and ABC's decision - as of now - to exclude even paid advertisements that present an alternative view does a disservice to the public. Our organization is more than willing to purchase ad time on ABC to present an alternative viewpoint and our hope is that ABC will reconsider having such viewpoints be part of this crucial debate for the American people. We were surprised to hear that paid advertisements would not be accepted when we inquired and we would certainly be open to purchasing time if ABC would reconsider."

Don't sit there and lie to the American people and try to say that this is a "bipartisan" effort, Obama. And don't deceive the American people with false claims of a non-partisan and agenda free media outlet, ABC.
