-Saad bin Laden, Osama's son, reportedly killed in Pakistan by U.S. Predator drones

saad bin laden killed in pakistan

From NPR:

U.S. officials believe Saad bin Laden — a son of Osama bin Laden — has been killed by an American missile in Pakistan.

Saad bin Laden reportedly spent years under house arrest in Iran before traveling last year to Pakistan, according to former National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell.

It's believed he was killed by Hellfire missiles fired from a U.S. Predator drone sometime this year.

A senior U.S. counterterrorism official tells NPR that without a body to conduct DNA tests on, it's hard to be completely sure. But he characterized U.S. spy agencies as being "80 to 85 percent" certain that Saad bin Laden is dead.

So...Saad. Haha. But seriously no compassion here. These Predator drones are a beast to contend with. Bombs away.

-Bruno: "Your king Osama looks like a dirty wizard or a homeless Santa Claus"

-Oh no, Democrats in an uproar about Cheney's "evil plot" to assassinate....Al Qaeda leaders?

The Wall Street Journal reported on Leon Panetta wetting his pants when he found out, probably because Pelosi would kill him if she found out on her own. Turns out, when Congress authorizes military force against an enemy (Al Qaeda), that includes assassinating Bin Laden, who, lest we forget, claimed credit for murder our innocent civilians on September 11th. It's sad, but it seems liberals have forgotten. Let's just ignore Islam and its extremists, and make fun of people who bring up September 11th. Of course, I suppose we could just have Obama go apologize to Al Qaeda and forget the trouble of killing them. Anyway here you go.

A secret Central Intelligence Agency initiative terminated by Director Leon Panetta was an attempt to carry out a 2001 presidential authorization to capture or kill al Qaeda operatives, according to former intelligence officials familiar with the matter.

The precise nature of the highly classified effort isn’t clear, and the CIA won’t comment on its substance.

According to current and former government officials, the agency spent money on planning and possibly some training. It was acting on a 2001 presidential legal pronouncement, known as a finding, which authorized the CIA to pursue such efforts. The initiative hadn’t become fully operational at the time Mr. Panetta ended it.

In 2001, the CIA also examined the subject of targeted assassinations of al Qaeda leaders, according to three former intelligence officials. It appears that those discussions tapered off within six months. It isn’t clear whether they were an early part of the CIA initiative that Mr. Panetta stopped.

-British citizen beheaded by terrorists, Gordon Brown condemns the action

edwin dyer al qaeda britain gordon brown terrorism islam

A British citizen was beheaded by Al-Qaeda in Mali. Apparently he had been kidnapped since January. This whole story is infuriating. The British government attempted to NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS in order to get this citizen back. Gone are the days when great countries like America and England would send troops discretely in to rescue hostages. If your spouse was taken hostage what would you want the government to do?

From Fox News:

Edwin Dyer was one of four European tourists kidnapped on Jan. 22 as they returned from a music festival. Messages posted on Islamic Web sites indicated that they were being held by Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), a 300-strong Islamist terror group that operates in the desert borderlands of Mali, Algeria, Niger and Mauritania. Despite intense behind-the-scenes negotiations by British and local officials in Mali, the hostage-takers claimed that they had carried out their threat to kill Dyer. Gordon Brown said there was "strong reason" to believe that this was true. "I utterly condemn this appalling and barbaric act of terrorism," the Prime Minister said. "My thoughts are with Edwin Dyer’s family. I offer them the condolences of the whole country."

Gordon Brown's reaction is even more mind-blowing. He "condemns" this act? No kidding! Maybe you should give more thought to keeping your citizens safe, which should be the role of the government. Hey Gordon, maybe if you were spending less money making Britain a welfare state and appeasing Islam, you would have the money and the clout for a rescue operation.
